CONGREGATIONAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Membership: Jenny Carmichael, Bob Slack, and Betty Rice, + Members appointed by the Diaconate.

The Congregational Relations Committee consists of five (5) Voting members whoappointed for a term of two (2) years.  Two members are appointed by the Diaconate, one by the Trustees, one appointed by the Executive Cabinet and one member appointed by the Minister.

Each year the Committee evaluates the performance of the Minister and providse comments and guidance on the needs of the Church. To this end, the Congregational Relations Committee solicits the views of the Congregation.  The Committee may also consult and use pertinent guidelines and forms for evaluating the Minister’s performance.

After meeting formally with the Minister and providing a performance review, the Congregational Relations Committee presents a summary report at the next general Meeting of the Church. In addition, the Cmmittee serves as a conduit of communication between the Congregation and the Minister or the Staff.  The Committee mediates or directs individuals to the appropriate channels for achieving understanding of needs and expectations.

Being an Usher does not require Church Membership.
