Child and Youth Programs
at the First Congregational Church of Billerica
The First Congregational
Church of Billerica provides adult-supervised child care for infants and
toddlers during the church services from September to June, from 10:00-11:00
a.m. Children are also welcome in the regular worship services, including
partaking in Communion if parents desire it.
Classes
for ages 3 through 12th grade are held at the same time as the church
services. On many Sundays the children spend the first part of the service
with the adults, participating in a special Children's service offered
by the Pastor. Afterward, they go to their classes in our Sunday School
area downstairs. Our facility also has a chapel which can be used for
special children's programs and helps us prepare children for full participation
in the service when they are ready.
Our curriculum is
called the Witness program, which is based
on Bible stories with everyday life applications. The children also participate
in a mission project during Lent.
Our youth program
is called the Pilgrim Fellowship (the PF) and includes young people from
grades 5 through high school. Grades 9-12 are in the Sr. PF; grades 4-8
are in the Jr. PF. PF meets on Sunday evenings and focuses on offering
opportunity for Fellowship, Service - and FUN!
Enrollment
To enroll in Sunday
School, each child's caregiver fills out a registration
form with emergency contact information and any special concerns regarding
the child.
Forms are available
in the Sunday School Office on the lower level of the church, at the street
end of the building, or in the classrooms.
To join PF, the young
person needs his/her parents or guardian to fill out similar emergency
information. Forms (link) are available from PF advisors.
